According to the sergeant on scene, alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision.

According to EPD’s PIO Brittany Powell, the victim appears to have been in the crosswalk, however, who had what traffic signal remains under investigation.

Witnesses say they pulled over to help the woman gather her belonging, and ultimately help her out of the roadway.

“Nobody was really helping her out she was just laying on the floor by herself and her stuff was everywhere,” Alexis Winder.

“People were just driving by, if it wasn’t for us going over there helping her get stuff out of the road she would have been smacked by a car,” said Ashley Yvonne Todd.
