St. Joseph Health Medical Group welcomes new pediatrician, working to expand pediatric services

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The St. Joseph Health Medical Group has added a new pediatrician in Humboldt County, Dr. William Parks, and he will help to fill a critical need in pediatrics.

Dr. Parks has 40 years of experience and is a board-certified pediatrician. In 2015, Parks accepted the chief medical officer position at St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka before making the decision to return to pediatrics.

This is the first time pediatrics has been a part of the medical group and will help improve access to health care for families. Dr. Parks is also tasked with building a team to provide comprehensive pediatric services.

“I think that ultimately we’ll be able to support between 4 and 6 pediatricians in full time engagement in seeing children in both the office, and in the hospital,” according to Dr. Parks.

Dr. Parks is accepting new patients at his office on Walford Avenue in Eureka. His office emphasizes they are here to care for your well children, and also have measures in place if your child is feeling sick. They also offer telehealth appointments.
