Cloney’s Pharmacies final store closes, prescriptions and insurance information transferred to pharmacy chain

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)-After nearly 120 years, Cloney’s Pharmacies has closed its last of their three retail stores.

Cloney’s will continue to operate its long-term care pharmacy which will service the healthcare needs of Humboldt County patients in skilled nursing, assisted living and rehab facilities.

Locals say it’s sad to see a long-time local business close its doors for good.

“For my estimation it’s discouraging to see a long-standing business go out for whatever reason. but for a reliable company such as Cloney’s depended on their customer base and their customer base dependent on them,” he said.  “So, it’s unfortunate all due to circumstance, with what we are dealing with at this time. “

Patient’s prescriptions and insurance information have all been transferred to the CVS located at 1105 Myrtle Avenue in Eureka but former Cloney’s customers can fill their medications at any CVS in the area. The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. For more information click here.
