Police asking for assistance locating 77-year-old missing person

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)-THE Eureka Police Department reached out to Crescent City Police about a missing person’s case involving a 77-year-old man. 

James Walton Wayman last lived at the Eureka Rescue Mission and may have returned to the Crescent City area, where he was once a DJ for various radio stations, according EPD, and may have returned.

Wayman, pictured above, is about 5 feet 11 inches tall, 170-pounds with gray hair and blue eyes, he may now have a long gray beard, police say.

Chief Richard Griffin with the Crescent City Police Department says both agencies have the same goal, to locate Wayman.

“Basically, we’re helping each other out, he used to live in Crescent City he may have travelled back up here, that’s why they contacted us.” he said.  â€śIt’s an EPD case, they [public] can contact us if they see him [Wayman] in Crescent City, we’ll make sure we go out and contact him and make sure he’s OK and then forward it to EPD, but it’s their case overall, we are just trying to help them out, working together. “
