Justice for Breonna Taylor event in Eureka

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)- An event was held earlier today at the gazebo in old town eureka to honor the lives of Breonna Taylor and David Josiah Lawson.

The event started with a prayer and moment of silence lead by Valetta Molofsky, cultural educator for the HC Black Music and Arts Association.

Then the floor was opened up for BIPOC leaders and community members to lead a discussion about the flaws in the justice system and what can be done to stop injustice.

Members at the event also had a chance to speak during the Open Mic portion of the event.

To cap it off, they held a candle light vigil to honor Taylor and all those who have died because of systemic violence.
