Last Chance Grade reopens after tree falls Tuesday afternoon

DEL NORTE COUNTY (KIEM) – Earlier this afternoon, Highway 101 at Last Chance Grade, south of Crescent City was closed for about an hour due to a fallen tree.

According to the Yurok Tribal Police Department, officers responded to reports of an injury accident involving an undisclosed number of people.

Police assisted with securing the scene and caring for the victims before being transported to Crescent City for medical care.

According to Cal Trans, Highway 101 has been reopened as of 6 P.M. this evening with an expected 30-minute delay.
