Proposition 19 expands property tax benefits for California residents

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Property tax benefits in California have been expanded thanks to Proposition 19, which was passed by voters in the Fall election of 2020.

The Home Protection for Seniors, Severely Disabled, Families and Victims of Wildfire or Natural Disasters Act will allow for California residents in those categories to move to a replacement home anywhere in the state- while avoiding a significant increase in their property taxes.
