Arcata industrial cannabis grow still in discussions

ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM) – A proposed industrial cannabis project in Arcata has had some push back from residents who are concerned about the impact that the large grow could have on their neighborhood. 

The initial proposal from Sun Valley Farms and Arcata Land Company would have been nearly 23 acres in size. 

Many complaints were heard during the Humboldt County Building Commission’s Zoom meeting on March 18^th. 

Since then, the companies have offered to decrease the size of the project by nearly half and a new meeting will be held to discuss the viability of the new proposal in the coming weeks.
