Temporary fix for those having trouble scheduling a Covid-19 vaccination appointment through MyTurn

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — Some Humboldt County residents have had issues scheduling a Covid-19 shot using the state’s MyTurn vaccination portal. There have been reported glitches with notifications about available appointments.

Right now, people are only able to view appointments at clinic sites that are within 40 miles of where they live. This means for more rural parts of Humboldt County, the portal says there are no appointments available.

The state is working to resolve the issue, but in the meantime, Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Ian Hoffman has a fix to help fill appointments. Only enter your county of residence when prompted.

“We encourage you to enter Humboldt County instead of a zip code or address when prompted on the let’s find an appointment page on my turn, as that will point you to all the Humboldt County clinics that are available, but some zip codes will not show those clinics,” Hoffman says.

Another tool online is www.vaccinefinder.org. It lists pharmacies and clinics with available vaccines through the federal government.
