Gas station thief in Orick

ORICK, Ca. (KIEM) – The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for a gas station thief in Orick.

Deputies arrived at the gas station on the 120,000 block of Highway 101 after a security alarm went off just after 4 a.m. on Thursday.

The front window had been broken out and no suspects were inside.

Surveillance footage showed a suspect described as a possible male adult around 20-to-30 years old, wearing a hoodie and dark jeans who broke into the gas station, activated a gas pump, and stole gas before fleeing north bound on Highway 101.

The suspect is associated with an early 2000’s model Mitsubishi Eclipse of an unknown color and license plate.

The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office
