Driver identified, arrested for last month’s vehicle versus pedestrian crash that left one woman injured

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) — Updated information has been released about a hit-and-run, vehicle versus pedestrian collision that happened last month at the intersection of Pine and West Hawthorne Streets that left one woman hospitalized.

After an in-depth investigation and reviewing video surveillance, the Eureka Police Department identified 48-year-old Demmeri Carr as the driver of the small SUV that struck the woman then left the scene.

Carr is charged with felony hit and run and will be arraigned next week. The female pedestrian has since been released from the hospital and is recovering.
