One Covid-19 death, 45 additional cases reported in Humboldt County since Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department has reported one Covid-19 death since Friday. The person was in their 60’s and marks the 40th death since the start of the pandemic.

Forty-five additional cases were also reported since Friday. The total case count is now 3,980. Health officials are tracking 167 active cases. One new hospitalization was also reported. A previous one was removed because it was determined to be unrelated to the virus. Sixteen more recoveries were also reported bringing that number to 3,773.

In the last week, 12 more cases were reported in northern Humboldt, 71 more in the greater Humboldt Bay area, and nine more cases in southern Humboldt. The biggest weekly increase has been in 20 year olds with 20 new cases followed by kids 10 to 19 years old and 30 years olds both with 19 new cases.
