Two hikers rescued by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Two hikers are safe and sound after being rescued from a trail near the Del Norte County line.

At about 7:30 Thursday night, search and rescue crews from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office were called out to the Ossagon Trailhead on the north end of the Newton B. Drury Parkway.

A male and female became stranded on a steep ocean bluff as it got dark out. Due to the remote location, a coast guard helicopter was called in to help.
