EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – Originally scheduled for March 2020, Rumble in the Redwoods 7 will return to Redwood Acres on Saturday, September 18, for a night of professional wrestling.

The event experienced a variety of setbacks and was rescheduled multiple times due to COVID-19 restrictions. Organizer Joe Sousa said he was apprehensive leading up to the event as there have been other event cancellations around the county.

“We waited and waited very patiently. I’ve always emphasized it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when,” Sousa said.

Fans will return to Redwood Acres for a total of six matches, including the North Coast Tag Team Tournament and North Coast Championship. Rocket Boy Brett will defend his title in a three-way elimination matchup.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for an evening of “hard hitting, old school wrestling.” Bell time is at 7 p.m.

Backed by community support, Rumble in the Redwoods will return for another year of excitement. Although this year’s showdown will be different than years past.

In addition to a ticket, masks will be required for admission. Both will be available at the door. Tickets can also be purchased at Ray’s Food Place in Arcata and North Coast Roleplaying in Eureka.

“We’ve all been waiting and now it’s just a matter of days where Redwood Acres is going to be rocking and rolling with live pro wrestling action,” Sousa said.
