A woman was arrested on charges of first-degree burglary

On Saturday at about 11 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s were dispatched to a residence on the 12,800 block of State Highway 254 in Myers Flat to investigate a residential burglary.

According to the victim, a female suspect was caught on the victim’s home security camera entering the residence multiple times on October 11th while the victim was out of town.

In reviewing the footage, the suspect was identified as 33-year-old Dorothy Lucas who happens to be the victim’s landlord’s room-mate.

During the investigation, deputies learned that Lucas had taken a key to the victim’s residence from the landlord without permission.

Lucas was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of first-degree burglary.
