Dr. Ian Hoffman’s last day will be March 4th

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif.(KIEM)-Humboldt County’s Public Health Officer spoke out earlier today about why he’s stepping down from the position.

Today we learned that Hoffman’s last day on the job would be March fourth. Deputy Health Officer will be stepping in to help with the County’s covid-19 response as officials look for a replacement.

Hoffman spoke at a news conference earlier today about his decision to leave the position.

“This is a job that during covid 19 has become difficult. Dr. Frankavich was putting in long hours, I’ve been putting in long hours, and I think it’s part of the job in emergency services, and sometimes we need to take a break, and that’s where I am at,” said Dr. Ian Hoffman, Humboldt County’s Health officer, DHHS.
