Project Funding Frozen 

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif.(KIEM) Caltrans announced on February 03, 2022, it is cutting off funding for any new projects in Humboldt County. The county’s public works director calls the decision by Caltrans, quote “extremely bad news.”  

What is the reason for the Caltrans funding freeze? 

The agency told the county earlier today it won’t be getting any additional monies because it is now four months overdue submitting an audit report on existing projects.
