Guy Fieri writes foreword of Ferndale Museum’s new cookbook

FERNDALE, Calif.(KIEM)- Ferndale’s excitement over the weekend as the community got a special visit from a beloved hometown figure.

Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri helped celebrate the Ferndale Museum’s new cookbook release.

He participated in a book signing at the museum on Shaw street.

Crowds lined up outside the museum and down the block for an opportunity to buy a book and get his autograph.

Fieri authored the foreword to the cookbook titled ‘Sweet memories of Ferndale – Celebrating with Food and Love.’

The book is a treasure of local history and good food.

It documents three decades of memories, stories, and recipes centered around the eel river valley, and all the proceeds from the book are going to the museum.

“But the hard work that everybody puts into this to keeping Ferndale history alive, I can’t say thank you enough. So that’s why I was so honored to be involved in the book and to write the foreword and to buy the first few 10,000. But I did it because I believe in this, and I think this is what needs to happen. And it takes generations time to recognize how important all this is. But we would really be at a loss if we didn’t have all the great volunteers that participate in keeping the history of Ferndale alive,” said Guy Fieri, Celebrity Chef and Fortuna Native.
