Humboldt County Board of Supervisors adjourned meeting in memory of Donna Wright

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif.(KIEM)- One day after her death, the Eureka Chamber of Commerce President and CEO is remembered as a transformational community leader.

“Our huge community had a huge loss yesterday. And I will be adjourning in memory of Donna Wright,” said Virginia Bass, District Supervisor.

After failing to show up to work on Monday, Donna Wright was found dead in her home by first responders.

Wright had led the Chamber since 2017, and she was the first woman to do so in the group’s history.

At today’s Humboldt County Board of Supervisors Meeting, they paid tribute to Wright as a champion for both business growth – and a stronger community.

“When we lose somebody like that in our community. And it tends to make us all sit back. And I’ve seen an outpouring of support. You know, you see it, but very rarely at this level,” said Rex Bohn, First District Supervisor.

“Several chambers reached out to me in my district that her positive note had so impacted. She was very dedicated to chamber and chamber ways and chamber beliefs and in you know, quite a shock and recognizing what she brought to that world and what will be missed,” said Michelle Bushnell, Second District Supervisor.
