OFFICER ATTACKED WITH SLINGSHOT

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) Eureka police say one of their officers was attacked by a man firing rocks with a slingshot. 30-year-old Marco Herra-Sales shot golf-ball sized rocks near 1st and ‘U’ streets earlier this week. Those rocks nearly struck the officer, but fortunately he avoided injury. Police responded by firing bean bags at Herra-Sales before arresting him. He is charged with assault of a deadly weapon.
