FENTANYL TRAFFICKING ARRESTS

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) Arcata police now say they’re investigating a total of five deaths in recent days that are suspected to stem from fentanyl overdoses. Officials have indicated that the fentanyl epidemic accounts for at least 10-percent of all deaths here in Humboldt County.

Meanwhile, drug agents have arrested four people for fentanyl trafficking: Levi Jones, Joshua Crum, Mariah Smith, and Crystal Landry. Authorities tracked the four as they drove to San Francisco to pick up drugs and then headed back to Humboldt County.

The Humboldt County Drug Task Force says most of the fentanyl being sold along the north coast comes from the San Francisco Bay area.
