RANDY WALTZ CASE RESOLVED

DEL NORTE COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) The perjury and voter fraud charges against the former Del Norte County Sheriff have been dismissed. A judge today dropped those charges as part of a plea deal with ex-Sheriff Randy Waltz. Waltz did plead no contest and was found guilty today of one misdemeanor false declaration of candidacy charge. The ex-sheriff was accused of listing a false address on his voter registration form and using that address when he initially filed to run in next month’s election. Waltz resigned as sheriff and withdrew from the election.
