Not Your Everyday Haunted House: The Haunted Kinetic Lab of Horrors

Arcata, calif. (KIEM)- The Haunted Kinetic Lab of Horrors is back again this year for its annual fundraising event. This is a haunted house like no other. We got a chance to talk to Ken Beidleman, lead engineer at the Kinetic Sculpture Lab.

“It’s not chainsaws and zombies jumping out, going boo and running and chasing you out. This is a unique creative Halloween,” said Beidleman.

The Haunted Kinetic Lab of Horrors is full of handmade gags built almost entirely out of repurposed materials.

“Lots of secret doors everywhere now… And there are some gags down here that can’t really show you yet. You just have to show up and see for yourself,” he said.

This annual freaky fundraiser allows the Kinetic Sculpture Lab to operate year round.

“We make enough in four nights, fortunately, to pay the bill for the entire year,” said Beidleman.

Tickets are $15 sold at the door located on the corner of 8th and N street in Arcata. They are open from 7pm until midnight on the 27th, 28th, 29th and the 31st.

“I just hope you’re scared. If you’re not, you will be,” said Beidleman.
