Press Release from Soroptimist International of Humboldt Bay:
Soroptimist International of Humboldt Bay supports the Streams of Living Water Women’s Center.
The Center is a part of Redwood Adult and Teen Challenge, which is a faith-based recovery and work program. They provide services for hire, have run a store/coffee shop and they contribute to our community with the work that they do. This includes the cleaning of the Humboldt Transit Authority bus stops.

Their vehicle was costing more than it was worth to repair. Soroptimist International Humboldt Bay heard of their need and took action. Soroptimist International of Humboldt Bay pulled from previously raised funds and asked several local business owners to match. They explained the need and set a total goal of $20,000. With the help of donations from these gracious local businesses, and the support of other wonderful individuals, they were able to make the wish for a new truck come true. President, Tosha Martins-Bowling, said “We couldn’t have done it without our local business donors. We appreciate their support in helping us to meet this need for the Center and for our community”.

Soroptimist International of Humboldt Bay members recently gathered at the Streams of Living Water Women’s Center to enjoy and learn about each other. Soroptimist members shared information about themselves, their challenges and the mission of Soroptimist. Residents of the Center shared testimonials and experience of their journey thus far. It was an evening enjoyed by all, sharing and caring for one another.
