The Butler Valley Carole Sund Center will be celebrating their farm that has been up and running for over 10 years! The farm will have a Mother’s Day plant sale and an open house which they have been working on for quite some time.

“They have been working non-stop to get everything going to really get it beautified for everyone to come see it. to make sure the plants are thriving and the animals are thriving,”Alicia Durham of the Butler Valley Carole Sund Foundation said.

The open house and plant sale will have fun interactive activities, a silent auction, scavenger hunt, food and more!

“We’ve got it all set up into different stations so everyone is going to be working and giving tours,” Durham said.

The Carole Sund Center Program provides support and resources for adults with disabilities. The farm is a way for adult participants and clients within the program to be out and active while contributing to the community.

“Everything at this farm has been built and maintained by those who come here each day,” Durham said. “And so we really try to work on teaching various farming skills, working alongside each other.”

The plant sale and open house will also serve as a fundraiser to help with all things necessary to keep the farm running!

“Generally just making sure that we can rehab our garden beds, get our plant starts, make sure we’re taking care of the animals and getting all their health needs met,” Durham said. “As well as providing an income for everybody who is working here.”

The plant sale and open house will be this Saturday, May 5th, starting at 11a.m. at the Carole Sund Center in Eureka.
