North Coast Weather Forecast: Tuesday, August 29th

For the rest of our Tuesday, we are looking to have smoke and haze continuing to stick around the viewing area as we get into the evening hours. Cooler temperatures and ocean winds will move in a bit for the coastal areas, but will just push the smoke further inland, and patchy fog can be expected around the coast. Lows will drop to the 40s and 50s for temperatures. Heading into our Wednesday, we are looking to have plenty of clear skies for the region. However, with the stronger winds sticking around, smoky and hazy conditions will blanket much of the North Coast, giving terrible air quality, and will be very bad for those of us with respiratory health issues. More smoke and hazy conditions will continue to stick around as we get through most of the week as well. However, by the end of the week, we are looking to have a developed system move in from the northwest, giving us more structured rain showers and a potential thunderstorm or two, but chances of thunderstorms developing will be on the slim side. Rain showers will be hit and miss across the viewing area, with heavier rain showers staying more to the north in Oregon. However, if the system itself shifts more to the south by about 50 miles, we could have plenty of rain showers in Del Norte County for this upcoming Friday through Sunday.
