Mark Finnigan

News Director Mark Finnigan is an award-winning journalist who brings nearly 40 years of television news experience to Redwood News after working as an anchor, reporter, talkshow host, writer and newscast producer at stations from California to Kentucky. Mark graduated from Cal Poly Humboldt with a degree in journalism and started his on-air career at KVIQ in Eureka. After more than four years at KVIQ, he migrated back to his hometown of Los Angeles, where he worked as a news writer and content producer at many television stations over the course of several decades, including NBC4, CBS2, KTLA5, KCAL9, KTTV Fox11 and KCOP MY13, as well as the legendary all-news radio KFWB NEWS98. Mark’s other TV stops include KGET in Bakersfield, WLKY in Louisville, KY, and the Travel Channel. Mark has won multiple Emmy Awards and Golden Mike awards for excellence in news broadcasting. Throughout his career, Mark Knew he wanted to return to the Eureka TV market eventually. Now he’s back in the place he loves and is happily giving back to our community, bringing his wealth of TV experience and love of our region to North coast viewers. Mark has been married to his wife Mary Jane for more than 30 years and together they have four children, a daughter-in-law and a grandchild.
