Joyce Kim

Joyce Kim is an anchor and reporter for Redwood News. She majored in broadcast journalism and political science with a minor in psychology at Syracuse University. After graduating, she moved to Eureka in early October to start her career as a multimedia journalist.

In college, Joyce hosted the entertainment news show at the student-run news station. She also studied meteorology and learned how to produce, anchor, and report on television and radio. In addition, Joyce spent 6 months studying abroad in Madrid, Spain where she interned for a national political party. She also had the amazing opportunity to travel all over Europe.

By the summer of 2019, Joyce moved back home to California and worked as the assistant producer for CNN Newsource in Los Angeles. She wrote news scripts for CNN affiliates worldwide and interviewed celebrities on the red carpet at the movie premieres of X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Toy Story 4, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Ready or Not.

Joyce grew up in LA, but she is excited to start her new life in Northern California to explore its scenic views from the beaches along the coast… to the inland woods. She is passionate about listening to other people’s stories and wants to use her voice to share inspiring, heartwarming news. She is also excited to get to know the community and local audience.
