CALIFORNIA REDWOOD COMPANY TO LAY-OFF 45 EMPLOYEES THURSDAY
EUREKA, CA- The California Redwood Company will lay off 45 employees. The company vice president and general manager says their last day of work will be this Thursday. Carl Schoenhofer today told News Channel 3 “regrettably, in response to market conditions, it is has become necessary to lay off 45 individuals at the California Redwood Company facility in Korbel that work on the second shift. The last day of work for these individuals is Thursday, January 17. If redwood lumber demand increases and our inventory declines, we will re-evaluate our options for lumber production.” The company’s headquarters is located on highway 101 between Eureka and Arcata. California Redwood Company’s parent company is Green Diamond Resource Company.
