Sources with the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office have confirmed the identity of a man found dead Saturday to be 24 year old Jacob Allen Green of Newport, Oregon. Green is believed by Oregon State Police to be the only suspect in the homicide of 16 year old Kayla Ann Henrickson of the Beaverton area. Late Friday night OSP were called to investigate suspicious circumstances along Highway 6, 18 miles east of Tillamook, OR, where Henrickson's body was found victim of homicidal gunshot wounds. Green was known to Henrickson, and witness reports placed the two together at the scene before Henrickson was found dead.   Around 8 Saturday morning, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Detectives were called to what CHP was reporting as a traffic collision on Highway 101 at Seawood bridge north of Trinidad. When they got to the scene they found Green inside the car he was believed to have been in at the time he allegedly shot and killed Henrickson. Detectives working the case say he shot himself while driving southbound on the highway. He was taken to Mad River Hospital where he later died.   Investigators with Oregon State Police say they’re still investigating why Henrickson was killed. They are not releasing any information as to Green's relationship to the deceased.
