MCKINLEYVILLE-A race too close to call. For most of the evening following the primary election, Humboldt County’s current fifth district supervisor, Ryan Sundberg, was in the lead.

But all that changed later in into the night when candidate Steve Madrone inched ahead. At last check, only 33 votes separate the two. But there are roughly a thousand more ballots to be counted. We spoke with both candidates and asked them how it feels to wait even longer to see who will win.
