FORTUNA – The City of Fortuna Police Department is excited to announce they will have a school resource officer stationed at Fortuna High School this upcoming school year.
Today was freshman orientation where the new S.R.O., Lindsey Frank, was able to meet the upcoming freshman. With over 200 calls from the high school alone last year Frank says she looks forward to not just being there as a law enforcement figure but making a connection with the students as well.

“I want to break that barrier that you will normally see with the public and law enforcement, or even with the youth and law enforcement so being able to show them that there’s someone behind the badge, that they can come to me for anything… if i just want to come to my office and talk or if they’ve got problems that I can help in a law enforcement aspect,” says Frank

Frank will service schools throughout Eel River Valley including Rio Dell and Ferndale. The Fortuna Police Department says they are very appreciative of all the work done by not only the high school but the city as well to make this happen.
