Eureka man declared sexually violent predator

EUREKA – In court Thursday, a Eureka man is declared a sexually violent predator.

32-year-old David Boardman was suspected of luring a 5-year-old girl into his Eureka apartment in 2010 and molesting her.

He has remained in custody since then and Thursday, Judge Cissna announced him to be too dangerous to be released back in to the community.

Had the decision not been made Thursday, he would have been released.

Boardman will be transported to the Coalinga State Hospital, a locked facility designed to treat sexually violent predators.

There is a chance he could be released from there if “his condition changes such that he no longer meets the definition of a sexually violent predator.”
