Caltrans schedules Highway 299 closures near Helena Fire

JUNCTION CITY/HELENA – The destructive Helena Fire is three quarters of the way contained, and although traffic on Highway 299 was re-opened, that won’t be the case for parts of next week.

Come Monday through next Saturday, the highway will have closures again due to contracted rock scaling and timber falling operations.

There will, however, be single time openings at 9AM, 12PM and 3PM each day.

Motorists are asked to arrive within 15 minutes of those times.

Come 6PM, continuous controlled traffic will open again until 7:45AM the next day.
