Trail Stewards plant native flowers for wildlife

EUREKA., Ca (KIEM)- The Eureka Trail Stewards are doing their part to keep wildlife happy. Along the Hikshari’ trail volunteers are picking weeds and planting native flowers for the native animals.

The group showed up at the Elk River Wildlife Sanctuary at 9 am grabbed their shovels and mulch and got to work. Wanda Naylor a lead volunteer says she is grateful for the number of people who also care about the trail.

If you’re interested in being a part of the trail stewards they are out and about ever 2nd Saturday of the month and are always looking for donations and volunteers.
