First responders take part in fire drill at Humboldt State University

ARCATA – Arcata Fire and other first responders practiced an emergency call at the dorms of Humboldt State University to evacuate student actors.

There was smoke coming out of the buildings and actors covered in ash yelling for someone to come save them. Firefighters had to go and rescue students in different scenarios. This effort was pulled all together before school starts back up on August 20th.

The purpose was to test campus and community response teams in case of a real fire happening on campus. The drill was organized by the HSU Housing & Residence Life Office.
