Women flaunt festive hats for Ladies Hat Day

Ferndale, Ca., (KIEM) Get ready-set-strut and that’s exactly what ladies from all over the county did, Saturday afternoon, as several women signed up and participated at the annual Ladies Hat Day at the races.

Hats of all different personalities and colors poured into the Humboldt County Fairground racetrack at to claim the number one spot.

Women, young and old, entered to win one of the several categories:

• Most Glamorous Hat
• Funniest or Most Outrageous
• Best Racing Theme
• Best Young Adult (age 15 and under)
• Best Group or Couples Hats

“I love hats and noticed the girls did too, it’s a way to look your very best,” said founder of Ladies Hat Day, Cindy Bugenig.

Today makes the 7th Annual Ladies Hat Day at the races.
