EPD officers administer Narcan to unresponsive man

EUREKA (KIEM)- Eureka Police officers just started carrying Narcan this month and its already saved a life.

At around 5:20 Friday morning, officers were called to the 400 block of N Street for a man on the ground. 

The unresponsive man who had a low pulse and officers felt the medical emergency was from opioid use.

They administered Narcan to the man and when emergency medical personnel arrived, he was responsive and his breathing improved.

He was taken to St. Joseph Hospital by City Ambulance for treatment.
