Pedestrian vs. vehicle incident sends a man to the hospital

EUREKA, CA (KIEM) – A man is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after colliding with an SUV in Eureka.

The incident took place around 3:20 Monday afternoon at the intersection of 6th Street and Myrtle Avenue. According to Eureka Police, a grey SUV was traveling Southbound on Myrtle Avenue and for unknown reasons, a man entered the roadway and collided with the front passenger side of the vehicle. According to a witness the man was lying on the ground with a twisted foot. Emergency personnel responded and transported the man to St. Joseph Hospital. The incident is currently under investigation, but police say the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with authorities.
