EUREKA (KIEM) – About 100 people came out to volunteer for one of the biggest food drives of the year.
Humboldt County residents were encouraged to help stamp out hunger.
It’s part of the Letter Carrier Food Drive and it is a nationwide movement. Letter carriers would pick up food from the food bank, then deliver it out to the community.
Food for People says, this one food drive alone gives them a quarter of the food that helps them stock their shelves for the summer season.
The Letter Carrier Food Drive was started by the Letter Carriers Union.
