Athlete of the Week: Kyle Pruhsmeier

ARCATA, Ca (KIEM)-Each summer, many college baseball players from across the nation make their way to the North Coast to play for the Humboldt Crabs. One of those players from this year’s squad is a pitcher from Fresno State.

In his final appearance of the summer, Kyle Pruhsmeier tossed seven innings, allowed no earned runs and struck out 11 batters in a 3- 1 win over the Puf Caps.

Pruhsmeier enjoyed his time in Arcata this season. It allowed him to make many new friends and improve his game on the mound. He added  a new pitch, a slider to his repertoire.

Pruhsmeier told us he had a great relationship with the Crabs coaches and manager Robin Guiver. He finished the summer with a 3-2 record, 44 strikeouts and a 1.06 ERA.

So what’s next for Pruhsmeier? Soon, he’ll be back in school at Fresno State for his sophomore season with the Bulldogs.
