$2.5 Million Dollar Mental Health Grant for Public Schools

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Humboldt and Mendocino counties receive $2.5 million dollars in state mental health funding to expand their public school program.

The four year grants are expected to begin this Fall with goals of expanding counseling services, suicide prevention programs, enhanced family support for low-income and homeless students, dropout prevention, and more.

The Humboldt County Behavior Health Director said that they are seeing increasing impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, and that the need for services will likely grow.
