HSU athletic director named chair of NCAA committee

ARCATA, Calif. (KIEM) – Humboldt State University Athletic Director Jane Teixeira makes history as she is named chair of an NCAA committee.

Teixeira is the first female of color to hold the chair position of the Committee on Infractions.

The committee participates in hearings involving member institutions that have been alleged to have violated NCAA legislation.

As chair, Teixeira will officiate the proceedings during any contested case of summary disposition. She will be the direct contact for the committee and run committee meetings and deliberations.

Teixeira says it is an honor to take the chairmanship of the committee, she says the individuals who serve on the committee make the chair position a truly collaborative effort.
