11,900,000 rapid Covid-19 tests sent to California

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – The Trump Administration is sending nearly 12 million state-of-the-art BinaxNOW Covid-19 rapid antigen tests to California.

The point-of-care tests are able to detect infection in as little as 15 minutes.

Governor Gavin Newsom will be able to distribute the tests as he sees fit- likely to teachers, nursing home residents and staff, and first responders.

So far, California has distributed one million tests to 15 out of the 58 counties in the state.
