Two more deaths due to COVID-19 reported in Humboldt County

The Humboldt County Public Health Department confirms two more people have died since Saturday due to COVID-19. One was in their 80’s and the other in their 90’s and both were residents at the Granada Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Eureka. 

That brings the total number of deaths to 18 and 64 additional cases were also reported today as well.  

The total case county is now 1,647 with health officials tracking 511 active cases. 

In the last week, 49 new cases were reported in northern Humboldt, 97 more in the Greater Humboldt Bay Area and 1 more cases in southern Humboldt. 

The biggest weekly increase has been among people in their 30’s with 28 new cases. Followed by people in their 20’s with 25 new cases.

Our county is currently still in the purple tier and northern California’s ICU capacity is at 29.3 percent.

We also have a total number of 1,134 recoveries.
