Man arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia

TRINIDAD – Beefed up patrols on a scenic drive in Humboldt County led to the arrest of a man, who now faces several charges. 33-year old Lucas Lee Hawthorne of McKinleyville was arrested after a deputy patrolling near Luffenholtz beach county park spotted his Ford pickup with expired tags.

 

The deputy approached and saw two men inside. As he got closer, he saw several prescription bottles and a metal baton inside. A search of the truck turned up three-grams of meth, over 3-grams of heroin, oxycodone pills and drug paraphernalia.

 

Hawthorne was arrested, his passenger let go. He now faces charges of possessing a billy club, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
