Enforcement and Education: CHP focuses on pedestrian safety in Crescent City

CRESCENT CITY, CA., (KIEM)- California Highway Patrol will be working to improve pedestrian safety in Crescent City, upping enforcement for motorists and pedestrians who fail to yield right of way.

CHP officers will work in heavily traveled areas, with known pedestrian fatalities and injuries. Officers will be dressed in plain clothes, monitored by uniformed colleagues, to ensure motorists yield right of way.

CHP also plans to launch public awareness and education campaign to supplement ticketing.
