Eureka fatal crash victim identified

EUREKA – A fatal crash takes the life of a Eureka man.

22-year-old Kendall Schroeder was driving behind Eureka’s Costco when the fatal incident occurred.

It happened just before nine Tuesday night on Railroad Avenue.

Eureka police and Humboldt Bay Fire were called to the scene after Schroeder drove a red Toyota truck into a parked flatbed trailer.

Schroeder suffered major head trauma and was pronounced dead on scene.

This investigation is ongoing and Eureka police are asking for any witnesses to give them a call.
