Humboldt County Supervisors distribute leftover Measure Z tax money

EUREKA, CA. – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors’ vote on how to spend about one million dollars in left over funding from Measure Z taxes.

During their meeting Tuesday, board members decided to put the largest investment, $500,000, towards Public Works for county road fixtures – a top recommendation by the Measure Z Citizens Advisory Committee.

$335,000 will go to the Department of Health and Human Services for drug and alcohol treatment programs.

$40,000 will go towards a District Attorney investigator geared for working with police camera footage.

Another $40,000 will go towards Humboldt County’s 2-1-1 emergency services organization.

$22,000 will go to the K’ima:w Medical Center for equipment to provide emergency medical services to the eastern portion of Humboldt County.

Finally, $50,000 will go to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office to do a feasibility study for dispatch system improvements.
