EUREKA- What began with a call to authorities to check on a Fortuna woman ends with her arrest on several charges.

On Sunday night just after seven, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a woman hanging over the railing of the Humboldt Hill overpass.

When they arrived, they found forty-year old Jennifer May Cooper walking near the Highway 101 northbound on-ramp. She was carrying an open lock blade knife.

Deputies ordered Cooper to drop the knife and she did. While investigating, they found she had a felony warrant for her arrest.

She was arrested and booked on the warrant charges of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, and petty theft.
